I looked after the media and communications for The Great Race North for 15 years and learnt a huge amount about my craft in the process.
It was one of the first yachting events to envisage coming to life online, and in the days before Facebook or Youtube existed, I invested huge passion and energy into bringing the race to life for spectators via its website.
I developed the website www.coastalclassic.co.nz, which is still online today and has been well cared for by the new team.
I also took care of sponsor communications, media relations, and many other aspects of this great event, which is regarded of one of the world's iconic races.
